According to Canterbury Court, regular walkers have fewer heart attacks, strokes, lower blood pressure, and higher levels of healthy cholesterol. They even mentioned that walking for just 30 minutes a day, five days a week can reduce your risk of heart disease by 19%. When walking in the beautiful Spring and Summer weather in Nebraska, you could be changing your whole life!

Walking is truly a win-win! But where should you walk? We have a list of our favorites:

  1. Fontenelle Forest in Bellevue: This is a gorgeous place with many walking trails. In early Spring you can spot animals and, in the Summer, the green of nature will impress you! This is a great choice for a scenic and peaceful walk.

  2. Zorinsky Lake in Omaha: Zorinsky is a beautiful lake with a lot of paths for walking! You can even fish or have a picnic while you’re there too!

  3. Pioneers Park in Lincoln: This is a wonderful park in Southwest Lincoln that is gorgeous to walk through! Just like Zorinsky, you can have a lovely picnic while you’re there too!

  4. Walnut Creek Recreation Area in Papillion: Not only can you walk the trails at Walnut Creek, but you can bike, hike, kayak, or even ride a horse here too!

  5. The Old Market in Omaha: Do you enjoy people-watching? The Old Market may be perfect for you! You can see fun exciting events happening, listen to local musicians at the corners, and do a little shopping while on your walk.

Walk For You and Your Health!
